Fire pits and outdoor fireplaces

A fire feature is the reason a patio gets used in March and November instead of just in July.

We build round and square stone fire pits, curved seat walls to sit around them, and full stone fireplaces with hearths, mantels and integrated wood storage. Whether it burns wood or gas, the feature is set into the hardscape from the start rather than dropped on afterwards.

A fire pit that is too large swallows a patio; one that is too small leaves people shouting across it. We size the feature and the surrounding clearance around the furniture you actually intend to put there, and keep the traffic route past it clear.

Built to sit outside in Carolina weather

Firebrick where there is direct flame, proper footings under anything with mass, and drainage designed so a heavy summer storm runs away from the structure rather than sitting under it.
